Decor Imperial

Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, and how to get it removed.

This policy explains what personal data Decor Imperial collects, why, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It describes what this website actually does — it is not a template.

Who we are

For the purposes of the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, Decor Imperial is the data controller for the personal data described here, and the address below is how you reach it.

For anything to do with your data, including access and deletion requests, write to contact@decorimperial.com. We are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer and have not appointed one.

What we collect, and why

The contact form

If you write to us through the contact page we store the name, email address, subject and message you type, the date you sent it, and the IP address the message came from. The IP address is kept only to identify and block automated abuse of the form. We use the rest to read and answer your message and to keep a record of corrections readers have reported. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — running an editorial publication means being reachable and being correctable. We keep contact messages for 24 months and then delete them.

Your session

The site sets a small number of strictly necessary cookies so that pages and forms work — among other things they protect the forms against cross-site request forgery. The matching session record on our server holds the IP address and browser user-agent string the session was opened from, so that a session cannot be hijacked from somewhere else. None of it is used to track you between visits or across other websites, and the record is discarded when the session expires. The cookies are listed individually in our cookie policy.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard web-server logs, which include your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser's user-agent string. These exist for security and for diagnosing faults. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — keeping the site available and defending it against abuse. Retention is controlled by the hosting provider.

What we do not do

We think this is as important as the list above, so we will be specific.

  • We do not run third-party analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel and no comparable tracking script on this site. The site's content security policy actively blocks third-party scripts from running.
  • We do not run display advertising, and we set no advertising or retargeting cookies.
  • We do not build profiles of readers, and we carry out no automated decision-making about you.
  • We do not sell or share personal information in the sense used by the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we operate no financial incentive programme.
  • We do not embed social feeds or third-party comment systems that would load trackers into the page.

When you click a product link and go to a retailer, that retailer normally sets its own cookie on its own domain so it can attribute a sale to us. We do not control that cookie, we cannot read it, and it is governed by the retailer's privacy policy rather than ours. What comes back to us is aggregate commission reporting — how many sales, not who made them. We never receive your name, address or payment details. Our commercial arrangements are described in full in our affiliate disclosure.

Who processes data on our behalf

  • Hostinger hosts the site, its database and its server logs , on servers in the European Union.

That is the whole list. Every other part of this site — the stylesheet, the scripts, the typefaces and the images — is served from decorimperial.com itself, so loading a page on this site does not send your IP address to anybody but us and our host.

We do not pass your personal data to anyone else, and we do not use it for any purpose other than those set out above.

Transfers outside the UK and EEA

Where a processor listed above operates outside the UK or the European Economic Area, any transfer is made under the safeguards permitted by Article 46 of the UK and EU GDPR — in practice, standard contractual clauses or an equivalent approved mechanism in that provider's terms. If you would like the current detail for a specific provider, ask us and we will tell you.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you; to have it corrected; to have it erased; to restrict or object to how we use it; to receive it in a portable format; and, where we rely on consent, to withdraw that consent at any time.

If you are in California, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we have collected, to have it deleted, to have it corrected, and not to be treated differently for exercising those rights. As set out above we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.

To exercise any of these, write to contact@decorimperial.com. We respond within one month. We will not charge you, and we will not ask for more identification than we need to be sure the data is yours.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). If you are in the EEA you may complain to the authority in your own country.

Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us their details through the contact form, write to contact@decorimperial.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or why, we will update this page and change the date below. Where a change is significant and we hold your email address, we will tell you directly rather than relying on you to notice.
