Affiliate Disclosure
What we earn, from whom, and how it is kept away from editorial decisions.
Decor Imperial earns money from affiliate links. This page explains exactly how that works, what it does not change, and where you will see it flagged.
The short version
Many of the product links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer pays us a commission. You pay the same price either way. That commission is our only source of income from editorial content — we do not run display advertising and we do not sell sponsored posts.
Every page that carries affiliate links says so at the top of the page, before the first link, and every affiliate link is marked in the page's own code as a paid link, so browsers and search engines can identify it as advertising too.
Where the links go
Our links point to the retailer or to the brand's own shop. Depending on the retailer, a link is either a direct arrangement with that brand or is handled by an affiliate network that does the tracking and payment on the brand's behalf. Which applies varies by retailer and changes over time, so we do not publish a list that would be out of date within a month. If you want to know whether a particular recommendation is an affiliate link, ask us and we will tell you.
What commission does not change
This is the part that matters, so we would rather be boring than vague.
- It does not change a rating. Scores come from the evidence set out in our review methodology, and nothing else.
- It does not change the order products appear in. A higher-paying retailer is not placed first.
- It does not decide what gets into a guide. We start from what readers are genuinely deciding between. A product cannot buy its way onto a shortlist.
- The editor writing a piece cannot see what any link pays. Commission rates are not part of the editorial process.
- It does not buy silence. We publish the faults, the recalls and the legal disputes we find, on products we earn commission from, and we decline requests to remove criticism.
Sponsored content and paid placement
We do not publish sponsored articles. We do not accept payment for a positive review, for a particular score, or for inclusion in a guide. We do not let a brand, agency or affiliate partner see a piece before publication or approve its wording. Brands are welcome to send products and to ask to be considered; neither earns a place and neither moves a rating.
If we ever do publish content that has been paid for, it will be labelled as advertising at the top of the page, before you read it — not in a footnote.
Prices and availability
Prices shown on this site are read automatically from the retailer and carry the date they were checked. They are a guide, not a quote. Prices, discounts, stock and delivery terms change constantly and differ by country, so confirm the current price on the retailer's own page before you buy. We are not the seller and we cannot honour a price shown here.
Your purchase
When you buy through one of our links your contract is with the retailer, not with us. Returns, warranty, delivery and customer service are all theirs. Clicking an affiliate link normally sets a cookie on the retailer's own domain so they can attribute the sale — that cookie is theirs, and is governed by their policy. What comes back to us is aggregate commission reporting: how many sales, never who made them. Our own use of cookies is set out in the cookie policy, and what we do with personal data in the privacy policy.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, or you think we have failed to flag a commercial relationship somewhere on the site, write to support@decorimperial.com or use the contact form. The rules we hold ourselves to are set out in full in our editorial policy.
